1. Vara approves OKX preparatory license Dubai's financial regulator,the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA),has granted a preparatory license to OKX,a cryptocurrency exchange. OKX is the first exchange to receive such approval from Vara,a newly created regulatory body set up by the Dubai International Financial Centre. The license enables OKX to offer a range of cryptocurrency-related services,including spot trading,fiat-to-crypto trading,custodial and non-custodial crypto wallet services,and payment and settlement activities.
2. Expansion Plans of OKX The preparatory license is part of OKX's expansion plans into the Middle East market. OKX aims to capitalize on the region's growing interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. The exchange is set to establish a regional office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and plans to work closely with local regulators and financial institutions.
3. Cryptocurrency Regulation in Dubai The decision to grant OKX a preparatory license by Vara highlights the efforts being made by Dubai to establish itself as a cryptocurrency-friendly destination.
