Swiss authorities have agreed to change regulations to allow UBS Group to acquire Credit Suisse for $3.25 billion,bypassing shareholder vote. The acquisition was approved by the Swiss Federal Department of Finance,the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority and the Swiss National Bank and is an attempt to prevent financial market instability. The deal will also see the Swiss National Bank provide over $100 billion in liquidity to UBS.
