3AC liquidators look to recoup 13B from founders

Topic: Three Arrows Capital's Loss Recoupment Three Arrows Capital is a Singapore-based hedge fund that invests in digital assets,and they recently lost approximately $10 million due to the collapse of a token called YAM. However,the positive news is that Three Arrows Capital has recouped a significant portion of its losses. Reportedly,the liquidator of YAM,the token issuer,made an offer to buy back the tokens at 50% of the price when YAM crashed. Three Arrows Capital accepted this offer,which amounted to approximately $8 million,and has thus recovered a majority of its initial investment in YAM.
2. Topic: Collapse of YAM Token As mentioned earlier,YAM is a token that relatively recently came into existence. It was created as an experimental decentralised finance (DeFi) protocol on the Ethereum blockchain. However,on August 12th,2020,a bug was discovered in the smart contract code that made the YAM token supply endlessly expandable. This bug led to the token's market capitalisation ballooning from $60 million to $600 million in a matter of hours. But within 24 hours of that discovery,the token completely crashed,with the value dropping to near-zero.

It is worth noting that DeFi investments come with many risks,primarily associated with smart contracts.
