Venezuela has shut down cryptocurrency mining facilities and exchanges as part of an ongoing investigation into corruption involving its oil company. The closure is also part of the country's reorganization of the National Superintendency of Crypto Assets,which was announced by President Nicolás Maduro on March 17th. At least 10 individuals have been arrested in connection with the investigations,including Joselit Ramirez Camacho who led the crypto department since 2018. The US has also issued a bounty for up to $5 million for information leading to Camacho's capture.
